Supporting PUT Rocketlab.

Advancing the Frontiers of Engineering with CADDX Technology.

Held in the Mojave Desert, California, Friends of Amateur Rocketry – Oxidizers Uninhibited Tournament (FAR-OUT) provides university rocket engineering teams from around the world with an open, real-world test environment for validating their technologies.

The 2026 FAR-OUT competition took place from May 27 to June 2, bringing together student engineering teams to design, test, and launch hybrid and liquid-fueled rockets. Beyond the excitement of launch, the event serves as a rigorous platform for evaluating structural design, propulsion systems, flight control, data acquisition, video transmission, and recovery technologies.

FAR-OUT: Advancing Rocket Engineering and Flight Validation

Unlike competitions focused solely on maximum altitude, FAR-OUT emphasizes engineering precision and validated performance. Under the Contract Apogee format, each team declares a target altitude in advance and aims to reach it as accurately as possible. Success depends not only on flying high, but also on achieving precise flight performance and a safe recovery.

The competition highlights student-developed rocket systems, covering key aspects such as propulsion, structural design, flight testing, target altitude control, data acquisition, recovery, and video transmission. As a result, FAR-OUT is more than a launch competition—it is a comprehensive test of engineering design, system validation, and teamwork.

PUT Rocketlab: A University Rocket Team from Poland

PUT Rocketlab is the student rocketry team of Poznań University of Technology, dedicated to the development of sounding rockets, hybrid and liquid propulsion systems, onboard electronics, recovery systems, and flight testing.

At FAR-OUT 2025, the team won the Category B Championship with its HEXA 5 project and received the Most Efficient Engine – Hybrid award. According to publicly available data, HEXA 5 reached an altitude of 34,551 ft (approximately 10.5 km), achieved a top speed of 511 m/s, and completed a successful parachute recovery.

These achievements reflect the team's expertise in propulsion, structural design, flight testing, recovery systems, and onboard electronics integration. They also highlight the importance of reliable system coordination in real launch environments, where clear flight monitoring, image recording, and post-flight analysis are essential to the engineering validation process.

CADDX Technical Support: Reliable HD Video Transmission

At FAR-OUT 2026, CADDX supported the PUT Rocketlab team with a complete FPV and HD digital video transmission solution. In the open, complex, and long-range launch environment, stable, low-latency video transmission enabled the team to monitor launch, flight, and recovery more effectively, providing valuable support for ground observation, flight recording, and post-flight analysis.

  • Walksnail Avatar GT2 kit: Delivers long-range HD video transmission, ultra-low latency, dynamic power adjustment, and reliable anti-interference performance, making it well suited for drones, robotics, RC platforms, and advanced engineering applications.

  • Goggles X: Provides a clear and immersive FPV experience, allowing operators to monitor distant targets more intuitively and improve situational awareness in complex environments.

  • Walksnail HD Digital FPV System: Streams real-time HD video to the ground station, enabling the team to monitor vehicle status, flight conditions, and the recovery area throughout the mission.

Expanding Engineering Applications with FPV Technology

FPV video transmission is extending beyond recreational flight into a growing range of advanced engineering applications. Today, it serves as a valuable tool for remote observation, test documentation, and system validation.

CADDX remains committed to supporting innovation in unmanned systems, robotics, low-altitude aviation, and engineering education. Our collaboration with PUT Rocketlab at FAR-OUT 2026 marks another successful application of CADDX's HD digital video transmission technology in university research and cutting-edge engineering projects.

Looking ahead, CADDX will continue to advance HD, low-latency, long-range digital transmission technologies, empowering universities, engineering teams, and innovators to unlock new possibilities for FPV applications and push the boundaries of what's possible.
