Event Background

RoboCup 2026 was held in Incheon, South Korea, in July 2026. Founded in 1997, RoboCup is one of the world's largest and most influential international competitions for robotics and artificial intelligence, promoting innovation and real-world applications across a wide range of robotic technologies.

The 2026 edition brought together 364 teams and nearly 3,000 researchers from 45 countries and regions, competing across multiple leagues, including Robot Soccer, Rescue Robots, @Home Service Robots, and Smart Manufacturing. Among them, the RoboCup Rescue Robot League focuses on realistic disaster-response scenarios, evaluating robots' capabilities in environmental perception, autonomous navigation, remote operation, and mission execution, making it one of the world's premier competitions for rescue robotics.

Team Solidus Successfully Defends the World Championship

Team Solidus, from the Higher Technical School of Biel (HFTM), Switzerland, has rapidly become one of the most promising teams in the field of rescue robotics. The team placed fourth in the world in its RoboCup Rescue Robot League debut in 2024 and went on to secure runner-up in 2025.

In the 2026 season, Team Solidus returned to RoboCup with its self-developed rescue robot and successfully defended its title, winning the RoboCup Rescue Robot League World Championship.

Competing against leading teams from Japan, Thailand, Germany, and other countries, Team Solidus consistently excelled in dexterity challenges, complex terrain traversal, mapping, and remote operation. Through outstanding engineering and reliable performance, the team once again claimed the world title.

Powered by CADDX Technology

As Team Solidus's technical partner, CADDX provided a complete FPV and HD digital video transmission solution for the RoboCup World Championship.

  • Walksnail Avatar HD Pro VTX: Delivers crystal-clear HD digital video transmission with ultra-low latency, providing stable real-time video in demanding rescue environments.

  • GM3 Gimbal: Provides stabilized FPV, reducing image shake while the robot traverses uneven terrain, turns, and negotiates obstacles.

  • Goggles X: Delivers an immersive FPV experience, enabling operators to better assess terrain, obstacle distances, and navigation routes for more precise control in complex environments.

From the Competition Arena to Real-World Firefighting Applications

This championship represents not only another world-class achievement for Team Solidus, but also an important milestone for the team's future research and practical deployment.

According to the team, the LARX research project, supported by the Upper Austria Government's ""Security Technologies and Solutions"" funding program, is scheduled to launch this September. Working closely with frontline firefighters and emergency responders, the project aims to advance robotic technologies for real-world firefighting and disaster response applications.

CADDX Continues to Support Innovation in Rescue Robotics

Team Solidus's success highlights both the team's outstanding engineering expertise and CADDX's continued innovation in robotic vision and HD digital video transmission.

Looking ahead, CADDX will continue to advance high-definition, low-latency, and long-range digital transmission technologies, empowering universities, research institutions, and engineering teams to explore new possibilities in robotics, unmanned systems, and FPV applications. Through reliable visual connectivity, CADDX remains committed to supporting life-saving technologies and the future of intelligent robotics.
